Lynx Lynx

Commemorative is dedicated to Lynx lynx, belonging to Carnivore species. This precious furry animal inhabits mostly the Ukrainian Carpathians mountains. Its small population is preserved in forest sections which is difficult of access in Manevytskiy district of Volyn region. The animal is registered in the Red Book of Ukraine. In circulation since April 25, 2001.

Obverse: 
On the coin obverse within a window frame formed by some species of flora and fauna, there is a depiction of the Small State Emblem of Ukraine and the four line inscription:УКРАЇНА, 2, ГРИВНІ, 2001 and on both coins there is the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine
Reverse: 
On the coin reverse there is a lynx depiction with a lynx-cub sitting on a twig and circular inscriptions: above - РИСЬ ЗВИЧАЙНА, beneath - LYNX LYNX.
